This project was an absolute dream! My clients built this home about 20 years ago and they were ready to give the whole house a refresh. We spent a lot of time in the beginning evaluating what my clients were drawn to, as they didn't feel what they had reflected their style. After pouring through inspiration images, we came up with a game plan and the result was this gorgeous newly designed home for my clients to enjoy for the next 20 years!
For this project, my goal was to create a really calm space while staying within a tight budget. This was a rental home, and the walls were already painted white so I left that the same. I knew I would get the biggest impact by spending most of the budget on some really beautiful designer pillows (as they are the first thing you see when you walk in the room) and working with already existing furniture for everything else. The result? A beautiful Master Suite that serves as a calming retreat all within a very reasonable budget. See my blog posts (link at the bottom of this page) to learn more about this project. I had so much fun designing this nursery! We chose a really sophisticated color palette that could grow up with the child. The foundation of the space are the custom drapes in a gorgeous Caitlin Wilson textile. Grey check sheets and the striped changing pad cover compliment the floral design without being too overwhelming. The half walls created some challenges with hanging art, so we kept that simple and understated.
This was such a special project to work on. These clients couldn't have been any sweeter to work with. They were newlyweds and just bought their first house together and couldn't wait to make it their home. They wanted it to be pulled together and beautiful, but also be very cozy and welcoming for their family and friends. We worked on their living room, entry, dining room, and kitchen. I was so thrilled with how it turned out, and thankfully so were my clients!
This project is proof that just about anyone can work with a designer. This sweet family has three kids and lots of pets, so their concern was more for function rather than form. They really just needed their home to work for their busy lives and they wanted a pretty place to come home to and occasionally entertain guests. We worked on their front sitting room/entry area, dining area, kitchen, and living room. Even though they were local clients, we took an e-design approach so they could implement the design plan at their own pace. I really enjoyed working with this sweet family and I am so thankful that they trusted me to help them create their own dream home!
For this project, I worked with a local family who had just remodeled their sunroom. They added a beautiful fireplace and shiplap on the walls. The ceiling had beautiful wood beams that added a lot of architectural interest. They hired me to come in and help pick out some of the furniture and decor pieces to help pull it all together. They love the Caribbean Islands and wanted the design to reflect that in its colors and overall fun vibe. I love thinking about this family enjoying their new enclosed sunroom all year long and feeling like they are on vacation in their new space!
